This is a great time to tell you how Cathy got her start in ergonomics. She worked as a line assembler when she was 16 years old through college. This experience motivated to pursue a career in ergonomics. Long before OSHA became an influential force, she saw the need to help workers who perform repetitive, back-breaking work. Her uncles were truck drivers, her cousins were police officers, and her father- a painter/accountant. Her mother supervised 75 employees in electronics manufacturing. People she loved were getting injured on the job. Those she worked with did not receive training on how to perform the job without wearing out their bodies nor how to do the job efficiently. Cathy's mission is to prevent injuries, helping employees avoid the need for medical care.

Ergonomics (or human factors) is a science concerned with the interaction of humans, equipment, and other elements of a system to optimize human well-being and overall system performance. Ergonomists' evaluate workstations, jobs, tools, and environments to make them compatible with the needs and limitations of people. We partner with you to create safe environments, to increase efficiency and productivity, and to improve well-being.

Cathy is committed to health and prevention. As of September 2016, she became certified as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Coach at Chopra Center University.

Testimonial.

After a back injury left me unable to work for over a month, I contacted Cathy Philips, of Ergonomic Health Solutions, for help in creating an ergonomic workstation. Cathy responded immediately, with a list of questions and request for photos to help her identify my problem areas. In no time, she sent information about ergonomic seating, along with links showing the various options at different price points. When we talked a day later, she went over each option carefully, explaining in detail the advantages and disadvantages of each, and offered thoughtful, personalized recommendations.

Cathy is the consummate professional--responsive, highly intelligent, and extremely knowledgeable. A lovely person, easy to talk with, she listens carefully, evaluating the individual needs of each client, and provides expert advice, offering both physical therapy remedies--e.g., how to sit properly in a chair--and smart ergonomic solutions, always with an eye toward practicality and affordability.

Cathy Philips is truly amazing! My new sit-stand desk allows me to work comfortably, without the pain I had experienced for years. If not for Cathy's help, I would still be fumbling, trying to figure out a tolerable seating solution. An A-player, Cathy is the only person I will ever again consult about ergonomic seating! If you're experiencing back pain or looking to create an ergonomic workstation, you'll find no one smarter, more knowledgeable, or easier to work with than Cathy Philips!
